Add the perfect touch of color to any room!

A pillow is the quickest, easiest and most inexpensive way to add a pop of color to any room. Because they are so versatile, pillows can change with the seasons or move from room to room. Each design is an individual work of art and can make the difference between a boring sofa and a striking one. Transform your room from every day ordinary to Company C extraordinary; all with just a few pillows!

Lush velvets and sleek ribbon-cotton pillows provide the perfect punctuation marks for furniture while silks, satins and intricate embroidery add a touch of elegance to the master bedroom. Our rich colors and attention to every detail add spark to a sofa, provide visual relief on a patterned chair or plump up a pampering bed.

The key to a head-turning room is the perfect assemblage of sizes and patterns. Dress your sofa in 18” and 22” squares to add variety and texture. On the bed: start at the headboard and work your way from large European squares (26” x 26”) to the perfect boudoir (14” x 20”). There is no exact way to mix your favorite patterns or sizes. Lucky for you, Company C has you covered no matter what your style: geometric, floral, abstract or solid!

We challenged our Retail Associates to combine our decorative pillows in ways that we have not seen them before. Their challenge included creating two looks for each of our best-selling solid pillows: Larissa, Gabriella and Colonnade. Here are some of the combinations they came up with:

Pillows shown: Larissa Pewter, Deco Copper, Gabriella Azalea, Plume Copper, Larissa Caramel and Larissa Berry.

Pillows shown: Colonnade Pecan, Spiral, Colonnade Green, Squiggle and Windowpane Periwinkle.

Pillows shown: Addison, Gabriella Azalea, Waves Tangerine and Flutter.

Pillows shown: Windowpane Sun, Larissa Prussia, Giverny, Windowpane Periwinkle and Toucan Lemondrop.

Pillows shown: Gabriella Sky, Giverny, Gabriella Kiwi, Gabriella Azalea, Addison and Gabriella Tangerine.

Pillows shown: Colonnade Aqua, Arcs & Squares Aqua, Deco Peacock, Copy Stripe Aqua and Colonnade Green.

Pillows shown: Raffia Lake, Colonnade Pecan, Dandelion Green, Thicket, Twig, Larissa Grass and Raffia Chile.

In the month of May, buy one decorative pillow and get one 50% off. There is no better time to re-color your home for the spring and summer seasons!

4th & Final Winner! 2011 Colorful Living Campaign

Thank you to everyone who shared during our four-week Colorful Living Campaign! This last week we had so many great entries to review but we could only select one to win the 6′ x 9′ rug of choice. The fourth and final winner of our 2011 Colorful Living Campaign is Kendra Stanton Lee!

Kendra, we all smiled at the way you described Colorful Living (especially the part about the mermaid stickers!): “Colorful living is how we come into the world, outfitted in brights and pastels, how we spend our young years, scrawling with crayons on papers and walls (oops). Somehow we get away from colorful living as we become older; our environment and our affects become muted. We learn to deal in neutrals. But it is not who we are. As a mother of two — I am only now learning to get back to the sweetness of colorful living through my children, smiling through popsicle-drippy mouths or falling asleep with several mermaid stickers still stuck to my hand.”

Congratulations! Please email acolby@companyc.com to claim your 6′ x 9′ rug of choice.

Our 2011 Colorful Living Campaign may be over, but we would love to continue hearing from you. Share your colorful adventures or pictures with us on Facebook or our Colorful Conversations blog.

    Honeysuckle Day at Company C!

Last month we told you about Pantone naming Honeysuckle the 2011 Color of the Year. Well, this month we celebrated Honeysuckle by asking our employees to wear it on May 11.

Pantone refers to Honeysuckle as “A color for all seasons. Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.”

Here are some snapshots of our employees draped in Honeysuckle!

Beth was right on with her clothing selection!

Clockwise from top left: Kierstin, Maggie, Petra, Beth, Lou-Ann, Erin, Amanda & Jodie

We are grateful for those individuals and organizations that give their time to teach, develop and care for America’s children. To thank you, we would we would like to donate 1’ x 1’ squares of our rugs to your organization.

Over the years our customers have found many creative uses for these rug samples but the most popular use has been in schools and daycares. Whether used for a reading circle, a game or pieced together to cover the floor the children love the color, patterns and individuality of each square.

This year we have excess of rug squares so we would like to spread the word across the country about the opportunity to grab some for your school, daycare or local family support center.

    • Organization name
    • Contact name
    • Address

3rd Winner! 2011 Colorful Living Campaign

This week we received so many great entries that we couldn’t pick just one, so we have selected TWO WINNERS! Both of our winners posted on the Colorful Conversations Blog. Congratulations to Miracle Balsitis and Bromark2!

Miracle Balsitis described Colorful Living as: “Colorful living means living fully every day, every moment, every second. Taking whatever you are given, be it a smashed flower from your child’s grubby fingers, or a beautiful bouquet from your husband’s arms and loving each and every gift of the day with an expectation that you are special.”

    Bromark2 wrote a creative acrostic:
Some moments that define Colorful Living…
C – Chanting “USA! USA!” with fellow Americans
O – Ordering an unknown entree with an exotic name from the menu
L – Learning Spanish phrases like “¿Dónde está el baño?”
O – Opening a Friend Request from a high school nemesis
R – Reading in bed past midnight
F – Facing the music when you know you’re wrong
U – Undoing any wrongs (see “Facing the music” above)
L – Lip syncing into the webcam but NOT posting on YouTube

L – Laryngitis from too much singing
I – Inviting friends over for a Survivor finale party
V – Visiting your sole grandparent wondering if it will be the last time
I – Initiating a standing ovation (and shouting “encore” on the way up)
N – Noticing your first gray hairs and making your peace with it
G – Gratitude for the ups and downs in life that build character

Congratulations to you both! Please email acolby@companyc.com to claim your 4’6 x 6’6 rug of choice!

In addition to our two winners we would like to throw out an honorable mention to Lori Ames Smith. This is how Lori described Colorful Living: “If the beginning of life starts with a blank canvas, Colorful Living is the inspiration for creating your masterpiece out of that canvas. As you experience and grow from life, colorful living adds shapes and color to your canvas. A drip, splatter or brush of paint represents a memory, event or something you learned– sharing a laugh with your spouse, making a new friend, holding your child for the first time, visiting a new place or losing a loved one. The more vibrant and saturated the color is, the more powerful the experience. As you move through life, your canvas becomes filled with many different colors and textures – some expected, some surprises – that reflect how beautiful and unique each life is.”

Lori, for your beautiful description of Colorful Living we would like for you to select a 2′ x 3′ rug of choice. Please email your selection to acolby@companyc.com.

Keep following us and sharing what Colorful Living means to you. The last weekly prize will be announced on Tuesday, May 10 and our final winner will be selected on Friday, May 13.

    Celebrating Moms!

Mother’s Day is not just about celebrating mom because she is your mom; it’s about celebrating all the little things she does for you each and every day. It’s thanking her for driving you to sporting events, making dinner, reading bedtime stories, sitting in the front row at graduation, baking birthday cupcakes, helping with a science project, and so much more!

Do you have any special Mother’s Day traditions? What is your favorite ‘Mom’ moment?

We have A LOT of moms at Company C and so we asked a few of them to share their favorite Mother’s Day traditions and favorite ‘Mom’ moments with you!

Chris: “Our family spends Mother’s Day at my brother’s house on the coast of Maine. I love this day…especially the ‘Cliff Walk’ after eating too much steak and lobster…and then watching our crazy kids jump into the frigid ocean!”

Staci: “The moment I found out I was going to be a mom made all the waiting worth it! Brendan is the greatest gift I could have ever hoped for.”

Amanda: “My favorite times with Hunter are those that we spend together as a family. Whether it’s watching a movie, playing outside, reading a book or tickling him until he belly laughs (because he has the cutest laugh ever!); as long as we’re together, I’m a pretty happy camper!”

Kristi: “Every year on Mother’s Day, we take off for the day to do something fun as a family. We don’t worry about anything else and just have a good time being together.”

Monica: “Our tradition is that my mom and I like to get mani/pedis right around Mother’s Day so that we can celebrate it together. Now that Zoe is old enough, we all go together and have a girl’s day. Sometimes, if we’re lucky that all scheduling works out, we have an overnight sleep over for just the three of us.”

Petra: “Our Mother’s Day tradition is to drive north to my parent’s home and together with my two sisters and their families, we mulch my Mom’s four large flower gardens. Wheel barrows, shovels and lots of little hands help spread the mulch over newly budding flowers and shrubs. After a couple hours, we sit down together for homemade waffles. I love spending the morning in the dirt with my family on Mother’s Day.”

Becky: “I savor all kinds of silly moments with my children including dress up, making cheeseburgers out of play dough and running in the lawn sprinkler, but the times that I cherish the most are less accidental. The very best times are the ones spent in service of our neighbors; whether it’s walking for a cause or picking up litter on community clean-up day. It is in these moments when I know without a doubt I’m teaching my kids what really matters.”

Somerset: “Growing up, my mother’s day tradition was to take my mother, my aunt and my grandmother all to brunch with our favorite hats on and dine like queens. No boys were allowed. It was a lovely girl power time! Now that I am a mother of three energizer bunnies, my favorite tradition is to go to the local nursery, pick our new flowers for the garden and plant them as a family.”

Deme: “Our Mother’s Day tradition is spending time together, planting new flowers in the garden.”
