Company C’s Favorite Bright Rug Combos

Company C’s Favorite Bright Rug Combos

Warm Brights

Our ever-popular Landscape or Soledad rugs in warmer bright tones pair boldly with Brushstroke and Gemstones multis.

For less pattern, pair Crackle grass or peacock for textured color.

For performance without sacrificing style, our Cabana Stripe and Talavera rug tick all boxes.

Cool Brights

Best-selling Galleria rug is the perfect centerpiece for a colorful, yet classy, room. Pair it with Rhapsody for additional hues, or our new Jazzy or Gradations rugs for a subtle color callout.

For a more casual look, Hibiscus and Soiree still fulfill your color needs.
Confetti adds just a hint of a rainbow to tie it all together.

Looking for more geometric designs?

Vintage Quilt and Color Code rugs have you covered!

For a more subtle, colorful callout, try pairing our Illusion or Sample Stripe rugs with any coordinating Crackle hue to tie the look together.

Add our Veronica or Maze accent pillows to complete the space.

The Tree of Life Grows Two New Branches

The Tree of Life Grows Two New Branches

Our beloved Acacia rug welcomes two new designs specially-created to coordinate perfectly.

Sharing the same yarns as this best-seller, Tweedy (in new multi colorway) and Log Cabin are the perfect pairing to tie your space together.

With so many hues throughout these designs, selecting accents is a breeze—try pairing any of our velvety Veronica pillows or a super-soft Park throw for the finishing touch.

Veronica

Stunningly dimensional, this textural accent pillow is crafted of bias-cut ribbed cotton velvet, which is first pleated and then pieced into a lustrous chevron diamond pattern.

Park

The delicious textures and delightful colors of the Park Throw make it an inviting accent for any room. Variegated yarn is hand-woven in a popcorn-like stitch, giving this throw its distinctive texture and coloration. It’s finished with a long hand-knotted fringe.

Coastal Inspiration

Coastal Inspiration

Here’s to one of our most-loved and best-selling designs: Concentric rug. This sky colorway features coastal inspired colors—blues, aquas and greens.

Pair Positano or Sorrento for classic pattern mixing or Somner for a more subtle color match

For a more whimsical feel, To-Bay-Go adds a big statement to any space.

Or try a design that coordinates perfectly without adding too much pattern

Cayo

Abstract motifs in aquatic colors fill our Cayo rug with a whimsical coastal feel. The performance yarns are perfect for high traffic areas.

Skye

See beyond the horizon. Reminiscent of the serenity found in the striations of clouds drifting across the sky, this contemporary design wows. The abstract design offers texture with high to low tufting for a plush feel underfoot.

Jazzy

This colorful stripe creates lively rhythm for your interiors. Each color is specially-dyed to add subtle variations across each row, while the loop pile is perfect for high traffic areas.

Blue Love

It’s so easy to design with blues—the most popular home decor color! Have fun mixing patterns & textures in cool and warm blue shades for an update to classic style.

Combine multiple shades of blue for a monochromatic look

Pair your favorite blues with our Old Glory or Medina rugs for colorful classic combo

Add pops of gold for a luxurious look

For a more traditional take on this modern color combo, try using a vintage floral like our Avalon rug.

If modern is more your style, geometrics like Griffin can be paired with different shades of blue, neutrals and golds.

Pattern Mixing

Two classic pattern mixing practices are to coordinate prints & stripes and prints & textured solids.

Choose colors from your pattern that are also in the stripes or textures for a cohesive combo. To pair with our best-selling Acacia rug, we recommend subtly-textured Sampler Stripe or, for a brighter coordinate, bold Gemstones. Easy peasy!

Statement Pieces

Sometimes you want one focal point to stand out. In that case, pair your statement rug with a coordinating solid. Our solid Crackle rugs add a just the right pop to an open floor plan without adding more pattern.

Try pairing Crackle with your favorite design! These fan-favorite designs are well-deserving of being called a statement: Captiva, Art & Soul, Galleria, Soiree, Jubilee, Bon Bons and Acacia.

If you’re looking for more texture, tweeds like Harrison, Tattersall and Tweedy add just the right amount of interest without overwhelming the main event.

How to Select Rugs for an Open-Concept Space

How to Select Rugs for an Open-Concept Space

This season, we’re focused on answering the top design questions we get asked. One of our most-requested topics is how do I choose rugs for an open-concept space?

To create a design flow in an open space, select a statement rug to take center-stage. Then style adjacent rooms with coordinating solids for a cohesive feel.

For those who love lots of pattern, texture and color, choose from our most popular rugs for a dramatic statement. The textures of vibrant Jubilee and Bon Bons are pure pedi-joy so no need for a foot massage.

Our solid Crackle rugs add just the right pop to an open floor plan without more pattern. They come in a variety of hues, making them easy to pair with your favorite designs.

How to Work Color and Texture into Fall Decorating

Fall is the entryway to the holiday season – friends, family and entertaining. If you’re looking to dress up your space, adding in some texture and warm color is a great way to do it. Consider the floor, your starting point.

Did you know that most designers use a colorful rug to set the tone for the entire room they are pulling together for a client? We’ve created a few examples from our Fall 2017 Collection to show you how to DIY a look that works for you.

Love the idea of including jacquard woven rugs but not sure where they’d fit in your home? You can use them to add a hint of luxury to your living room, library or den, even the bedroom.

Inspired by our vintage fabric, our jacquard-woven rugs feature a lustrous design crafted of wool with a cut-pile design in a luxurious viscose. A true study in texture and tone, our new Crescendo jacquard-woven rug will dress up any space. Have you ever tried layering two rugs?

It’s actually easy to do. First, you need to select a more refined foundational rug, perhaps with a single, consistent pattern, like our Tweedy (shown below), and pair it with a larger print that has some additional texture, like Crescendo. The result is a plush, rich look that adds drama to your space.

Not ready to try layering woven rugs?

PalazzoRug
Try a single piece. Bold, yet elegant, our Palazzo rug works beautifully on its own to dress up a room. Taking its cue from vintage fabric, Palazzo features a trellis pattern crafted of wool with a cut-pile design in luxurious viscose. Plus, the neutral colors mean you can play more with a variety of colorful accents.

Another great option would be to take our Giardino rug which, on its own, ushers in sophistication. The floral motif may be all the pattern you want to play with in your space, but when you want to take the next step, you can easily add a  foundational rug underneath later.

GiardinoRug
The rich blue found in Giardino can be considered a base tone, which means there are a variety of colors that you can use to compliment it. Think gray, lighter blues, orange, deep pink, or look to the greens.

Here’s a cheat sheet to help you out.

If you also like to switch out accessories with the season, you can really pull a look together by adding in some Zoe, Sloan and Cassandra pillows for a study in contrast and texture. Concentric squares of multicolored satin ribbons lend graphic impact on our lovely Zoe pillow. Layer in the sloan accent pillow for additional texture and dimension. Not one, but two hand-embroidery techniques pop atop our Cassandra pillows sumptuous silken fabric to create a beautifully exotic damask motif-and a work of art for your sofa.

Once you feel a comfort level working with color, texture and pattern, you can pull together some really fabulous spaces in your own home.

Great Gift Ideas For the Summer BBQ

Think of a BBQ as a luncheon or dinner party where shorts are the perfect attire.  And while the event is casual, a gift of thanks conveys your appreciation for the time your hosts have invested in ensuring you have a great afternoon or evening.  Great gifts are thoughtful, creative, and reflect the spirit of the gathering while not creating more work for the hosts.  Here are a few items that are inexpensive, and help to make an outdoor evening a breeze for the hosts.

Bottle Opener(s) – These are great gifts, and extensions of the hosts’ taste.  And there never seems to be one handy, does there?  From fancy monogrammed to dollar-store common, this is a gift everyone will use and your hosts will appreciate.  Hang a fun bottle opener from a collection of craft-brewed seasonal beer and you will be the guest of honor!

Citronella Candles – These back-yard staples are available in a variety of taste levels when it comes to their packaging.  From fabulous and detailed to galvanized buckets, there are so many options accessible because theses candles really help to keep mosquitoes at bay.  And while no one may admit it, everyone loves the smell if only for its ability to conjure memories of childhood summers.

Pitch in – Offer to arrive early if extensive set up is required, or stay later to ensure that the cleanup is accomplished.  It’s a great way of saying thank you, spending quality time with family and friends, and often times the work detail is just as much fun as the party!

Always bring ice – There is never enough.  Never.
