Top Four Trends For Spring…

We all love spring, and its annual promise of a return to slamming screen doors, long lazy days, and a cool drink on the porch.  Summer is a care-free time, and that casual feeling translates into the design style that will highlight the coming months.  Here are the 4 trends for warm weather, and there is seasonal fun for everyone.

  1. Nautical nods.  By land or by sea, summer is the season to pull out all the sea-side stops!
  2. Bright, BRIGHT, B R I G H T S. Don’t be shy when it comes to color. Summer is the time to let your inner preppy shine.
  3. Make a statement with motifs. Summer is the time for light-hearted fun, and a themed rug adds interest in a snap.
  4. Outdoor living. Barefoot –friendly and easy-care polypropylene rugs visually ground outdoor furniture on a porch or deck.  They brighten transitional high-traffic areas while simultaneously collecting the errant beach sand we all secretly love!

Introducing Agra… Inspired by the Taj Mahal

Outstanding design begins with an inspirational spark, and our new Agra rug is no exception! Of this textural masterpiece Christine Chapin, our Chief Color Officer and lead designer remarks, “A trip to the Taj Mahal in Agra, India inspired our Spring 2016 Collection. We were so enamored by the Mughal emperor’s romantic display of love for his wide that he built this magnificent architectural wonder in her honor.”

And while a statement of love twenty-two years in the making, and a true wonder of the modern world, the Taj’s inherent architectural beauty has never been surpassed. Constructed of white marble, and accented with a scrolled floral design of inlaid precious gems including agate and jasper, The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. Part of a vast complex of outbuildings and gardens, the Taj and its environs were designed around the principle that each piece of the monument would stand on its own while constituting the whole. This is the same philosophy that guides arabesque ornamentation, and the design of our thoroughly modern interpretation, Agra.
